Don Shroeder produced a single record in Nashville, Tennessee in the year 1964 titled My Sailor Boy by a young high school female group called the Zippers managed by mr. Joseph Roberts. I was the lead singer of the group and my name is Evelyn Robinson. I would love to have someone contact me. How exciting this is after all these years.

ZIPPERS on Hickory label.
Just commenting as a collector of 45's from the day. Don't remember this being played in 1964 in the Detroit area, but found my copy during a record collecting excursion. Immediately added it to my main collection. A two sider with the more uptempo "My Sailor Boy" as the A side. The more mid-tempo flip side is strong also in my opinion.
Recommended for girl group fans, especially of the peak 1962 to 1964 era.
Strong lead put me in mind a little bit of Darlene Love. Not so much for style but in her range.
