Scully 280-2 Connecticut Recording

by Ed Lacinski
(NY)

I owned a Scully 280-2 recorder originally purchased by Connecticut Recording in Bridgeport, CT. Serial number 3098. I was told that this machine was used in mixing/mastering Harry Chapin's Taxi single and albums among others. Bob Berliner who worked for Scully and founded Audiotechniques came across to Long Island on the Port Jefferson Ferry to service the machine from time to time. It stayed in my studio for over 20 years and was sold to a new owner in 2016. Great machine!
