I used to work at Townhouse Studios, London in the 1990s, as a maintenance technician. I worked with seven of these machines (two in each of the three studios and a spare), and they were indeed notable for creating no problems whatsoever. I got a full line up down to about 15 minutes, and they always performed impeccably.
I’ve seen a machine with 20,000 hours on it. Drive a car at 50mph for that long, and you have a million miles...
