Emilio-Musician and friend of Warren "Gates" Nichols

by Emilio {Emo}
(Bayport, NY)

Warren and I grew up together in Brentwood, NY [Long Island} It was Warren who took me under his wing and taught me how to play the guitar. That was 45 years ago, and I've been playing in clubs and concert venues ever since-the first 10 with Warren in a group Called The Super Suds of Rhythm. He was my biggest insperation, I wanted to play like Warren.

Not only was he a great musician, guitar, banjo, bass, keyboards and trombone but also a great human being, with a great sense of humor. Some of the best times of my life were spent with him. Unfortunetly, I hadn't seen him in a least 25 years and very saddened to hear of his untimely passing. I've never forgotten him, and always think of him when I think of the early years. God Bless you Warren.

Sad to hear of Warren's Passing
by: Phil Topps

Spent every night I wasn't playing myself, at The Sandpiper, listening to the Suds. Went to Bay Shore High with Bobby Columbe, and remember when he played with The Dynamics, and Mad Mike and The Maniacs. VERY sorry to have learned of Warren's passing. He could sure make that B-3 Sing!

The summer of 1973
by: Kathleen

Hi Emo,

I spent the summer of 1976 chasing you from club to club in the Hamptons. One evening you actually saved me from getting a ticket for blowing a red light. If I didn't thank you then, i'm thanking you now.

Lots of great memories dancing to your band and then some!

I hope life has been good to you!

Kathleen
